Application Note: A human 3D neuroinflammation model using BrainZell organoids with integrated bit.bio ioMicroglia
In this application note, BrainZell and bit.bio demonstrate the integration of ioMicroglia into BrainZell human 3D brain organoids to model neuroinflammation in vitro. The model captures key neuroimmune features, including IBA1-positive microglial integration, LPS-induced TNF-α and IL-6 responses, and dexamethasone-sensitive suppression of inflammatory activation. The platform supports studies of neuroinflammatory mechanisms, immunomodulatory drug screening, and CNS neurosafety assessment.
